Honestly, it sounds lovely. And I'm sure we can find something on television or streaming or something.

I can bring something by, if you like? Since I'm the one imposing company on you and all.

I'll see what I can do to find something interesting.

See you soon, Rosalind.

[An hour or so later, John knocks on her door. Standing back with a bag of takeaway until she opens her door to greet her. Holding it up to her with a smile as she does.]

Happy Christmas.

[He lets out a bright burst of laughter at the suggestion of chess, before stepping forward to offer her the bag of takeaway.]

A man can dream, I suppose.

[He waits until she's taken the bag from him before he wrestles a hand into his jacket and pulls out a small wrapped package that may or may not be a jewelry box from his pocket, offering her a softer smile as he does.]

And this is for you. You can open it now or later, I won't be offended either way.

[John smiles, nodding as he takes the package from her before opening his own, though like any good gift giver he has half an eye on her opening her own package as he tears the wrapping off of his own. Beaming with delight as he flicks through the journals and holding the package of chocolates up to take a good sniff of them. He always appreciates a good chocolate, after all.

Of course, it's her reaction that has him smiling the widest. Leaning forward with his chin in his hand as he grins at her in return.]

Do you like it then? I had a feeling that you might. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I thought of you immediately as soon as I saw it.
