I should have left more gifts for you if I knew that Santa Claws didn't visit anymore.

Does it represent everything about you?

I've a few gifts for you in return, you know.

[ this is actually genuine, even if it sounds like a joke. he truly appreciates the friendship he has with ros and she is definitely one of the very few adults he trusts ]

[I mean, she also locks that door, but.]

[ also he doesn't want to see what kinky things you have behind that door, ros. he's young and pure and isn't ready to learn these dirty things about his mom ]

If you were Kawaii-san, you'd have taken over the entire kitchen and scream at me whenever you wanted to eat or have attention. Or, as he's done recently, cry when he can't see me, despite the fact I'm in the next room.

She disliked how often I read books, so when she shooed me out of the library, I used to run and hide on our estate. I'd climb trees, if only because there were so many it wasn't easy to find me, and settle in to read for an afternoon.
I was thirteen or so when I fell out of a tree and broke my arm. She viewed it as a comeuppance for both being disobedient and indulging in what she viewed as 'masculine activities'.

[Or, well. The woman herself Rosalind has long since come to terms with. Some of the issues contained within the story are a little more present in her current life than she'd like to admit, but.]
My mother dismissed her within six months, both because I complained and because I was growing too old to need one. The arm healed, I continued to read, and she's likely long since passed.

My mother never once thought of hiring a nanny for me so I suppose I should be lucky.
