But confidence is key. Knowing without a shadow of a doubt and projecting that confidence is how you dominate a person. Order them, and do so in such a way that their disobedience simply doesn't seem an option. And if they try to disobey, you scold them. A little pain is fine, but anything more than that is pure fetish.

It sounds like you're more asking me how to have power over another. In which case, what I'd suggest is simple: treat them like you might a servant. Set them tasks, simple but necessary, and in return take care of them, supplying them with both what they need and what they want.

Because I order everyone around, regardless of status. And the majority of Submissives I meet aren't used to this lifestyle, which means they aren't naturally submissive. They'll protest if they find an order abhorrent. Add to the fact I ensure each interaction is a transaction of some sorts, rather than simply obeying my whims solely for my benefit.

You can always contract a Submissive and only act as a Dominant in public.
