[ ... he's going to make a Face at her, because what the heck, Rosalind, that was not the answer he was expecting. what exactlyare you implying about other him???? ]

Unless. [ he frowns, almost as if hesitating to bring it up, but he will retrieve a playing card out of his wallet, although he's very careful to just show her only the backing of the card. the front isn't something that he will show to just anyone. ]

Unless these cards are linked somehow. I've gotten a few... isolated memories of them.

The usual hallucinomemories.

[ he'll shrug. he's being Evasive for good reason.

also, no, he's not going to hand it over just like that???? she's going to have to pluck it out of his hands if she wants to take a closer look at the card tbh. ]

[ ok to be fair, he's definitely not expecting her to actually reach over and pluck the card out of his hand, so he kind of... lets it happen.

when he realises what happens and sees the card in her hand, though, he's going to suddenly freeze up. ]

... Give it back.

[ he's not joking, because he's glaring at her.

because how the hell is he supposed to explain the fact that the image on the card is of him trapped behind bars? even if she can't read the Japanese characters on the top of the card, that's not the easiest thing to explain. ]

[ ...... okay so.

maybe he overreacted just a bit.

but when she offers the card back to him and he's finally holding it again (between two fingers, just because), the tension that he holds himself with definitely slips, his shoulders relaxing. ]

... It's fine. [ it should count? ] My apologies for overreacting - I don't know why, but that card is-- [ --dangerous, he wants to say, but that's. not quite true either. ] --strange. Like I'm oddly attached to it for some reason.

[ a slight pause because well. changing the topic is not the easiest thing ever. ]

If both of these items were from a past life of mine, it's not a far stretch of the imagination that they would be designed to work together?

[ just. throwing out ideas here. ]
